(A little M H Ranch History)

Traveling on the back roads of Marquette county, outside a small rural town named Westfield, Wisconsin, you will find one of the Midwest's largest miniature horse breeding ranches. Ron and Barb McHugh, who after raising 3 daughters were looking for new meaning to their 300 acre ranch. After looking around, the miniature horse appeared of interest to Ron, as well as Barb. A far different interest was exactly what Ron needed after 33 years in the trucking business. They traveled, and read, and searched until they came upon the start, 5 beautiful miniature horses. Then came another 4. That original purchase has grown to over 100.

During the summer of 1989, Ron and Barb felt that to answer a question that always came up, they should compete in shows, not only close by, but all over the US, so they started a show season. All the trophies, on display, were for a three month period, and were culminated by 24 National Grand Champions, and now that question, "Have you ever Shown?" or "How does your miniature compare to others?" has been answered.

The Great Circus Parade of 1989-1993 held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, featured M H Ranch, and also started another great part of the ranch, and from that came worldwide television exposure.

Many of the horses on the premises are for sale and we have developed special programs to help our customers afford a miniature.  We service customers with harness goods and carts. Also training outside miniatures to drive.   We receive phone calls for advice, on care, and problems that others are having.   Our staff is always willing to lend a hand if we can identify a problem, or answer a question.

The ranch takes pride in its spotless appearance. Well kept grounds, and clean white floors. That people tend to wipe their feet when walking into the barns.
